- Abstract:
The article presents the additional role of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the effort for increasing the range and availability of diagnostic tests for the causative virus, SARS-CoV-2. Topics include developing vaccines, diagnostic strategies, and the study of racial and ethnic disparities; and requiring a large amount of laboratory space, complex equipment, regulatory approvals for the laboratory operations.
