- Abstract:
The article discusses the issues in hemostasis testing in critically-ill COVID-19 patients, particularly those with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) and disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC). Also cited are the risks of venous thromboembolism (VTE), pulmonary embolism (PE), and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in the patients, the challenges faced in diagnosing DIC, and the laboratory markers of hypercoagulability.
